More Details for Sunday, May 21st
There are less than two weeks until the big event! Hope you've made your plans to join us. Here's a brief overview of what we know so far:
-
Activities begin at 10:00 a.m. Arrive early to receive your welcome packet and visit for a few minutes before the morning service.
-
Pastor Jim Kester, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, former Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, Athletic Director and Coach, will host the services.
-
Pastor Louis G. Dubost, Jr., former senior pastor and first administrator of OCA will speak during the morning service. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and conclude at about 11:30 a.m. or 11:45 a.m.
-
Lunch (chicken & ribs) will be served at about 12:15 p.m. This will be a great time to fellowship and reunite with your classmates. The meal is being provided by the OCA School Board and members of First Baptist Church.
-
After lunch we'll have an afternoon service (about 1:30 p.m.) that will focus on our alumni and the many ways that God has blessed OCA. How many graduates have gone on to full time or part time Christian service? How many salvation decisions were made as a direct result of the influence of OCA? This will be a time to share brief testimonies and memories. Pastor Dubost will speak to us again during this service.
-
The afternoon service will include the alumni choir! If you'd like to sing and want a copy of the music in advance just call the school office. If you want to just jump right in we'll rehearse for about 15 minutes right after the morning service. (We won't have to wait so long in the food lines!)
-
Childcare will be provided for both services.
-
A dessert fellowship will follow the afternoon service. This is the time to really relax, kick back and catch up on what's been going on since you left the halls of OCA. The festivities will end when everyone goes home!
People have been letting us know that they'll be here. If you can't attend the entire day and want to come for just one service, lunch or the dessert fellowship please do. We would love to have you here! If you are able to attend the lunch please R.S.V.P. to the school office by Wednesday, May 17th.
There is still time to get involved and help prepare for our ceremony. If you'd like to volunteer just give us a call at the school office. There's bound to be some task we can assign to you!
So, your homework is as follows: R.S.V.P., if you haven't already and plan to spend the day reuniting and rejoicing with us! If you aren't able to attend send us your fondest memories via email, snail mail, or fax. (ocacademy@hotmail.com or fax (248) 628-2468) Keep spreading the word and let your former classmates, siblings and parents know that everyone is invited!
Hope to see you there!
